Biography

Bassam Jayed Al-Shammari is an energetic, trusted and detail-oriented Information Technology professional with a proven track record of success with over twenty-five (25) years of experience in Oil and Gas Downstream Refining and Petrochemical industry. He Possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering. Holds several Internationally Accredited Certifications. Memberships in professional bodies. Previous President of the Internet Association Kuwait. Attended 60 plus training programs, conferences and workshops in the areas of Information Technology, Management, Project Management, Risk Management and Innovation. Presented several technical papers at Local and International Conferences and Educational institutions. Work experience includes managing and leading all phases of multi-million dollar diverse IT, business and transformation projects with consistent track record of on-time and on-quality delivery. Aligning business goals to drive process improvement, competitive advantage and bottom-line gains, business process re-engineering, developing vision, mission and values, long-term plans, budgets, formation and implementation of standards, disaster recovery & contingency planning. He is the founder and cofounder of several Local and GCC initiatives in the field of information technology and the Internet including Gulf Internet Week and the Arab Internet Union. In addition, he is a founding member of the Supreme Committee of the H.H. Sheikh Salem Informatics Award. Mr. Bassam Al-Shammari has won several awards, including the first place of the Kuwait Electronic Award and the first place (Arab level) at the UN World Summit Award in the field of digital health.
