Sorour Alotaibi, PhD

Biography

Sorour Alotaibi is a Full Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department in Kuwait University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Kuwait University in 1995. He Worked for Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC) for two years. He started his graduate studies with numerical simulation of turbulent flow in the Department of Mechanics Engineering at Syracuse University, New York where he obtained M. S. Degree. He finished M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, in 2001. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in 2003 from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. He has worked in several areas including desalination, thermal control, heat exchangers, and application of artificial intelligent in thermal systems. In 2006, he established and served as the first manager of the “The Center of Engineering Laboratory, Testing and Calibration” in Kuwait University. His current interest is in Solar energy and Desalination. Currently, he is the Chairman of Mechanical Engineering Department of Kuwait University since 2016. He published more than 50 refereed conference and journal papers.
