Mohammad Alsahli

Assistance Professor, Geography Department - Kuwait University

Biography

Mohammad Alsahli is an assistance professor in the Geography Department at Kuwait University where he has been a faculty member since 2010. Mohammad completed his Ph.D. at The University of Kansas, USA. When he was a graduate student, Mohammad worked as a researcher assistance in the Kansas Applied Remote Sensing (KARS) Program. His research interests lie in the area of environmental modeling and planning using remote sensing and GIS. In 2012, Mohammad with a group of scientists joined to the first national communication project, operated by UNEP, to study impacts and potential consequences of the global climate change on Kuwait. He worked with a research team in this project to evaluate the vulnerability of Kuwait coastal areas to the potential sea level rise. Dr Alsahli is currently working in the second communication project with his colleagues to continue their investigation to understand the impact of potential sea level rise on Kuwait coastal areas. He is also working on several projects to understand the role of biophysical variables on marine and coastal ecosystems of Australia, Hong Kong and Kuwait. Mohammad is an editorial member of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Journal and severing as a reviewer for several international journals in remote sensing and relate fields.
