Sugary drinks and health in Kuwait: Formative research to implementing consumption limiting public policies

The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and childhood obesity in Kuwait and the US is among the highest in the world, and public health experts project the rates to continue growing. The project findings demonstrated that while access to clean water and hygienic dispensers impacted student beverage choices in schools, adolescents in Kuwait would be reluctant to reduce their SSB consumption, despite potential price disincentives and warning labels.
