Dina Al-Nakib

Program Manager for the Flagship Projects Program

Research Directorate, Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS)

Dina Al-Nakib received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University in 1988. Upon graduation, she joined the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, where she was involved in a number of projects related to in the power systems, energy conservation, energy auditing with specialty in lighting systems and green buildings assessments. She has participated in and organized many seminars and conferences related to buildings and energy and has many publications related to these disciplines. Currently, Mrs. Al-Nakib is the Program Manager for the Flagship Projects Program, Research Directorate, at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, where she is involved in overseeing pilot projects for the dissemination of proven technologies in Kuwait.

Mrs. Al-Nakib assisted in founding the Kuwait Chapter for the Association of Energy Engineers in 2009, and was assigned as Chapter President from 2009 to 2014. She is the member of many international professional societies and associations, such as the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the Council for Women in Engineering and Environment Leadership (CWEEL), the American Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). She is also certified as a Lighting Energy Professional (CLEP) and as an Energy Auditor and Trainer. She was awarded the “Legend in Energy” title in 2010 for continuous work in energy conservation and efficiency.
