Dr. Gill is an Assistant Professor of Paleoecology at the Climate Change Institute and the School of Biology and Ecology at the University of Maine, where she directs the BEAST Lab for investigations on biodiversity and environments across space and time. Her research focuses on ecological responses to climate change and ice age extinctions and has led to several publications in her field.
Dr. Gill received the Cooper Award from the Ecological Society of America for her work on the ecological consequences of ice age extinctions, and has also received the Ecological Society of America (ESA) Student Section Award for Academic Excellence for Young Women in Ecology. She co-hosts “Warm Regards,” a podcast of climate change conversations, and was a founding member of the March for Science, where she worked on diversity and inclusion. Dr. Gill received her doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
