Chief Executive of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA)

Biography

Vicki has been QAA’s Chief Executive since November 2021. She previously served as QAA’s Executive Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive. Since September 2021 she is also a Board member of INQAAHE, the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. Vicki has worked in Higher Education since 1997, when she worked in the International Office at UMIST. She subsequently worked with University of Warwick, the University of Birmingham and the University of Oxford, before joining QAA following the agency’s transformation programme. From 2019-21, Vicki led QAA’s operational teams through the inception of QAA Membership model and early Designated Quality Body period. She took over as Chief Executive following the COVID-19 pandemic and is looking forward to leading QAA as it supports the sector to recover from the impact of the pandemic. Vicki also has experience in the commercial and charity sectors, having run her own company and been director of a charity working with families affected by domestic abuse. She currently lives in the Cotswolds with a highly photogenic dog and two grumpy cats.
